About FarolCyber

FarolCyber is a cybersecurity news site for people who are not experts. “Farol” means lighthouse in Portuguese: just as a lighthouse helps ships avoid the rocks, we want to help you see online dangers before they reach you.

Who is behind it

FarolCyber is an independent project created and run by Caio, in Brazil. We have no ties to security companies, banks or government agencies, and no post is sponsored. The site is funded by ads served by Google AdSense, which never influence what we publish.

How we make our content

We follow trusted cybersecurity sources around the world: researchers, security companies, government agencies and specialist outlets. Every post is written from scratch by FarolCyber, with our own explanation and advice, and always cites and links the original source at the end.

We use artificial intelligence tools to help us research and draft, and every post is reviewed by a person before it is published. Images that accompany our posts are illustrative and are never presented as real photos of the events.

Our editorial policy

Choosing topics: we focus on what can affect everyday internet users, such as scams going around, data breaches and flaws in popular apps and systems.
Fact-checking: we only publish when there is at least one trusted, verifiable source. When something is not yet confirmed, we say so in the post.
No sensationalism: we do not exaggerate risks or use misleading headlines to get clicks.
No copying: we do not rewrite other sites’ articles. We explain the story in our own words and point to where you can read the original.
